SCUBA diving in Anglesey, UK

All my UK diving so far has been with Anglesey Divers (click here for the website!), and I would thoroughly recommend them if you find yourself in this neck of the woods- a great bunch of guys who are professional and a good laugh!

Believe it or not, those beautiful clear blue waters in the photo above are the Irish sea coastal waters of Anglesey, UK. I explored this dive site during a couple of my PADI advanced open water dives, and we couldn’t have asked for a better day given that it was in February! You can find these waters on Newry Beach in Holyhead, Anglesey.

Another great place for diving is Vivian Dive Centre, situated in Llanberis in the heart of Snowdonia national park. I did a lot of PADI training here, and it was perfect for learning. Once you descend, there are many weird and wonderful things on the bottom, including aliens and a ‘flood’ warning sign! Don’t take my word for it- get down to the old slate quarry and explore it yourself. BONUS: Just around the corner is the famous Pete’s Eats Cafe which all Snowdonia walkers will be very familiar with- mostly thanks to it’s huge portions for amazing prices.

A bit different from the coral reef diving I am used to, but I’d love to give it a try someday. Nice blog!
